The rapporteur of the Public Law Department in our college, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Khaliq Abdul Hussein, participated in the committee to discuss a master’s thesis on “Criminal Confrontation of Fraudulent Disposition in Real Estate”, submitted by the student Mona Mahdi Shakban.
The study aimed to address the issue of criminal confrontation of the crime, which differs from other crimes because it is based on mental work and the cunning of the fraudsters who commit the crime, in addition to addressing the problem of tampering with real estate, and stating the cases that call for a harsher penalty to curb the criminal tendency.
The study concluded that the crime of fraudulent disposal of real estate was not directly stipulated in the constitution and internal laws in Iraq or comparative countries, and was mentioned among the crimes that violate honor, and that this crime has become rampant recently due to economic acceptances represented by the rise in real estate prices.
